Meet our National Structures Events & Services management team. Our team has an earned reputation for accuracy, efficiency and consistency, and our tenting services encompass management, planning, custom design & branding and logistical support.

We can handle everything from getting the tent top raised to ensuring every table top is fashionably dressed.  With a collective 120+ years servicing the high-end special event industry, our team is adept at managing tenting, flooring, seating, scaffolding, HVAC, power, décor, catering and all major special event needs across the nation.

Rick Freeman

Rick Freeman

Vice President of Sales & Operations

Rick Freeman brings more than 25 years of expertise in the special events, temporary structure and event rental industry to his leadership. As Vice President of Sales & Operations, Rick spearheads sales, operations and integrated service delivery for temporary structures and support services for clients across North America. He is an experienced national sales manager with a demonstrated history of leadership within the events services industry, adept at orchestrating operations, developing client relationships, and delivering customer service excellence. Most recently, Mr. Freeman served as national sales manager at Diamond Event & Tent, where he spearheaded strategic account management on a national basis for nearly five years, during which time he demonstrated himself as a capable sales professional, skilled in budgeting, event planning, logistics, and personnel management. Prior to his work at Diamond, Rick served as Sales Manager/Partner at Premiere Special Event Services for nearly three years, where he led similar activities for clients on a national basis. Over the years Rick has have the privilege to develop valuable relationships across the country; he has worked with clients like Barrett-Jackson, World Ag Expo, Google, and countless others.  

Rick started his professional career in temporary structures and event services more than two decades ago while working his way through college, starting at the bottom and working his way up to Crew Leader for a local party rental company.  After gaining valuable experience in the areas of European A-Frame Structure, Tenting, HVAC and Power while serving as an Operations Manager at Signature Special Events Services, Rick had the opportunity to apply his knowledge of the event industry as a business owner. Freeman established The Tent Rental Company in 2005 and himself as an entrepreneur, gaining valuable insights into the holistic management of temporary structure event services, before taking an operations management role at Party Reflections.

National Strategic Account Manager

Karen serves National Structures, Events & Services as the National Strategic Alliance Manager for the Western U.S. with over fifteen years of experience in national account business development and account management with the past eight years focusing on the Event Services industry.  Since working with National Accounts, Karen is now highly skilled at national account program development and execution.

As a Chicago native, Karen brings an outstanding background to The RK Group including working with Classic Party Rentals National Account launch team, where she developed, executed, secured, and renegotiated key national accounts and increased portfolio revenues. In her role with Classic, Karen was able to successfully work with many large national hospitality, event, race, experiential and production clients successfully executing multi-city and large event agreements and productions nationally. We are thrilled to have her joining our team!

National Strategic Alliance Manager

Bret James is joining National Structures Events and Services, an RK Group Company, as Strategic Alliance Manager for the Eastern U.S. with 22 years of experience specializing in New Business Development, Operations and Project Management. Bret is known throughout the special events industry for driving business growth through aggressive sales initiatives and strategic planning in a highly competitive market having taken multiple brands from regional to national levels while exceeding expectations in revenue growth and short-term business plans.

Bret has extensive experience in all aspects of sales and marketing for supplier of flooring, structures, seating and scaffolding to the sporting and high-end special event industry, such as, PGA & LGA Golf and Tour Championships, Rose Bowl, 2002 Salt Lake Olympics, U.S. Open Tennis, Boeing Classic Champions Tour Golf, and Super Bowl XLII Phoenix.

Bret's expertise, goal and customer-oriented attitude with the ability to see and execute the big picture in a fast-paced environment while managing logistics, labor, project budgeting, site design, construction, vendor relations, and total quality management is the perfect fit for The RK Group culture. We are thrilled to have Bret James join our team, strengthening partnerships and key alliances across the high-end special event industry, carrying The RK Group to a national presence.

Julie Skenandore

Julie Skenandore

Regional Strategic Alliance Manager

With a strong background in office administration, management, sales, and detailed contract work, Julie recently spent 10 years working in the southeastern event industry as an office manager, sales consultant, and event coordinator. In her role with National Structures, Julie spearheads management of regional accounts, especially those held in the States of TX, OK, AR, LA, & NV.  She has managed all aspects of events, from the permitting to the logistics, and coordinating services with other vendors. Connecting with clients, and understanding their perspective is a priority for her. No matter the size of the event, Julie has a knack of utilizing her skills and experience making sure every detail is tended to ensuring the customer’s expectations are exceeded. Away from work, Julie enjoys spending her time with family and friends, traveling to new locales, live music, the outdoors, and playing the piano.

Brett Westphal

Brett Westphal

Regional Strategic Alliance Manager

Brett Westphal brings two decades of industry experience to his current role as Regional Strategic Alliance Manager at National Structures, including sales, project management, organizational leadership, contractor management and customer service leadership, among many others.

Westphal began his career in 2000 with Aztec Party and Tent, working as an event consultant for the Houston region for more than five years. He then worked as a Sr. Account Manager for Colonnade Events, where Brett supported large-scale bleacher jobs in the Gulf Coast area and the company's work with a variety of sporting events, including golf and the NCAA Division II Championships.

Westphal next leveraged this experience in subsequent senior sales and account management roles over the next decade with Arenas America, Prestigious Event Rentals, Total Tent Solutions, and Kwikool, helping the specialty event rental suppliers grow their sales of temporary structures, power, climate control, flooring fine rentals and décor, among others.

Brandie Adams

Brandie Adams

National Territory Projects Manager

Mrs. Adams has worked in the event industry for five years, with the last three focused on coordinating national events, where she works with customers to orchestrate and implement their needs. Mrs. Adams’ incredible attention to detail and experience working large events of many types, in many locations, helps her coordinate with the production and operational teams to ensure every clients' event is everything they want it to be. She has experience managing events of all sizes, from smaller occasions to large events that have over 1500+ vendors.

Before making the change into the event industry, Adams worked in the trucking and logistics industry for nearly a decade.  This experience has provided invaluable insights when implementing strategic and tactical aspects of the event design, structure assembly, and event support in coordination with operational management to ensure every detail is delivered properly. When not working, Brandie and her husband enjoy spending time with their two sons, running them around the country to their hockey games.

Jeff brings to the RK Group over 25 years of experience in warehouse and warehouse yard management. The last 10 years were spent in the event industry where his focus was equipment organization, maintaining inventory, logistics, and providing strong leadership and support to his team and associates.  Hailing from Wisconsin “the big W”, Jeff enjoys football, spending time with family and friends, the outdoors, travel, and music.

Mr. Reyes brings 20+ years of experience in the event & tent rental industry to his operational management role. Reyes is both an experienced tent builder and project manager for events large and small, possessing extensive knowledge in dispatch logistics, transportation management, and the management of operations in field environments. He brings great attention to detail and creative obstacle clearance abilities to the role, as well as a ‘get it done’ attitude to every mission.
